My Life

by JJEM, San Mateo

Alright got that out of the way, so let me catch you up from the last time I left off on my story. I left off on the part where my friend Steven had a seizure and Georgie and I thought he died right in front of us.

Also we three were under the influence of alcohol and we were also high, but Steven and I were also under the influence of what you people know as LSD, and not the “mushrooms,” but also known as paper/gel tabs. I hope this story helps you understand how those types of drugs can be dangerous mentally and physically.

Alright then, now that I caught you guys up from the last time I left off on my story, now I’ll continue to tell you what happened next. I left off where I ran toward Steven so I can flip him over so his face would be facing the ground because I didn’t want him to start choking from the foam that was coming from his mouth and I also started patting his back.

Georgie was paralyzed from fear. I don’t blame him at all because first of all that was his first time seeing someone having a seizure. That’s what he told me. Second of all, it happened to a brother that we love and have known since we were in elementary through high school and even ‘till this day.

Third of all, everything happened so darn fast. When I was patting Steven in the back, I looked at Georgie, and like I said he was paralyzed by fear so I yelled back at him to snap him out of his paralyzed state.

Once he snapped out of it and came back to reality, I was straight-up yelling at him at the top of my lungs saying, “Dude wake your ass up!” And, ”Dude I don’t got that much time left!” because I thought that same shhh was going to happen to me or maybe even death. I wasn’t even scared of dying because death is everywhere and death is a cycle of life.

Death will soon come to each one of us eventually and the scariest part for some people is that death cannot be prevented. There is no way to tell when death is waiting right around the corner for you. That’s why I was never scared of death because it will eventually catch up to me someday and I’ll be waiting till that day comes.

What I always tell others like friends or strangers when I come across having a random conversation I tell them we only have one life or had many lives but we clearly don’t remember them so let us just focus on the life we have right now.

I just tell them, “Live your life to the fullest” and if you are reading this you probably have heard this saying. This saying isn’t telling you to do whatever the heck you want and not have consequences. I’m just saying, if you are reading this, write about what this saying means to you. I’m just tryin’ to give you an idea of what to write. When I see this saying I just see words. Don’t get me wrong I could clearly see the message of this saying. I just make up my own sayings like, “Live your life how you want it and how you choose to end it.”

I’m not saying to go do drugs or anything that could end up harming you but do what  makes you happy. I ain’t judging, if that’s how you want to live your life. Like I said cool with me. Just don’t let people get on your nerves when they’re judging you or saying shhh to you.

I also got a saying for this too: “When there’s one dumb ass then there shouldn’t be two dumb asses.” Now the friendly way to say it is: “When there’s one clown there shouldn’t be two clowns.”

What this means is there is one person making themselves look ridiculously foolish to try to make a point in an argument or saying something to someone, then there shouldn’t be another person continuing that argument because that would make themselves look ridiculously foolish too.

I went a little off topic right there, so I’ll wrap this up real quick. What I’m trying to say here is that live your life how you want it on your rules. Go accomplish things or achievements you have. Explore the world to see how the world really is.

Make your life an adventure. Make a plan or make it as you go because journeys like that go crazy and make the adventure more exciting. So go ahead and start your adventure because the world is waiting on you.

Also, if you’re just going to stay home for the rest of your life just being safe till you become 70, 80, 90, or 100 then boom, you passed away. Do you really want to live your life like that? I’m just saying you’re missing a lot of what the world can show you.

Just don’t take life for granted and also if you think you are safe, just remember that nowhere is safe because anything could happen in a blink of an eye. So like I said, don’t take life for granted because everything you say and do could possibly have a consequence maybe death or something far worse than death.

Ok then now that I wrapped that up, now I’ll continue my story. So yeah, I thought that same shhh was going to happen to me. I really thought I was going to have a seizure as well or die as I said.

So I told Georgie this exactly, “ Dude this shhh might happen to me.”

His face changed from shock to worried so I told him to call 911 on my phone instead of his so they wouldn’t track his phone. Then I told him to leave us and take our stuff because all of us had shhh in our backpacks.

I just told him that if everything went south, but Georgie is a persistent piece of shhh. He didn’t want to leave us, so I reminded him “Dude it’s ok man don’t  worry. We’ll be just fine. Just go and take our stuff man ‘cause you know what’s in our backpacks and also I don’t want you getting involved with this BS so just go alright.”

He was still going to argue but I told him to “Shut up” and to follow my rules then everything will be alright. I told Georgie some simple basic instructions. I asked him to get that bottle that recently had alcohol from the bench that we were just sitting at and told him to rinse the bottle and fill it with water.

I also told him to drink some water too and I also said, “Georgie after you drink water, you better be darn sure when you rinse the bottle to fill it up with water. It dang better not have any trace of alcohol when you bring it, got it? Take it to a waterfall if you have to alright?”

Georgie just said, “Ok.”

Then he went and got on his bike. He rode to the nearest water fountain which was like a couple of minutes away from us. I was there on the ground making sure Steven was alright, his face still facing the ground. He was unconscious and in my mind, I was like “Darn I might really have to call 911.”

Then all of the sudden, this actually kind of freaked me out, Steven woke up. I was like what the …. because I know I didn’t say that shhh out loud. I’m not gonna lie that didn’t “Kind of” freak me out, it absolutely freaked the hell out of me. I was already feeling the side effects of the drugs and alcohol.

I was hoping Georgie would come soon but hope wasn’t enough so I stayed with Steven and told him to keep laying on the ground but he was persistent so I had to keep him on the ground by force. Then I saw Georgie coming so I lifted Steven up slowly and made him sit on the bench. Then Georgie came and passed me the bottle.

He was surprised that Steven was up and then I gave the water for him to drink it and I was just sitting on the bench and then we were waiting.

Then Georgie asked me, “Are you ok?”

I told him “Define alright bro.”

He said, “I’m going to the store.”

To be continued…
