Chasing Money

by ARJ, San Mateo

A mistake that I made was chasing money over freedom. I used to think anything is worth the risk for money. Now I realize that all the money in the world can’t buy you freedom. You need to make right decisions so that nobody can ever take your freedom from you.

Money is a great thing to have and it can make you happy, but having to stress if you’re going to get caught or even get killed makes it not worth it for me anymore. Some people might say I’m just not with the “street life” anymore because I rather have my freedom than money and because I’m choosing to take the legal way with money.

But I don’t care ‘cause I know what I’ve done and how much money I’ve touched doing illegal things and people who really get fast money know how fast that money goes too. I’ve realized you can’t retire with fast money unless you done made over three million and I know for a fact most of these guys ain’t even touched three hundred thousand, so how am I supposed to support a family when I haven’t even made that much or are stuck behind a cell?

I wanted to get money so I could get a Hellcat and I was really finna do it but then I got caught so now I could either think I’m not finna get caught again, or choose the legal way to get it. I’m still going to get that Hellcat one day, but it’s going to be with all the money that I genuinely worked for.
