This is the only OT tasked again with bringing you the message for the week. First off plenty of blessings and love sent to each and every one of you. The advice topic was really popular, and I had a feeling it would be. All you readers, young or a little bit older, said some great things about who you take advice from. You even detailed situations, and many of you shared an example of a time you took some advice. I was really inspired by all you guys and gals, writing, that I want to go ahead and touch

The month of July was hard, July hurts. Marking one year since our fearless leader the founder of The Beat Within and my dearest, beloved husband, best friend and business partner David Inocencio left this world. I believe his heart was too pure, gentle and good for this cruel world, so the Lord called him home, I hope you are resting in peace by his side. July also marks our wedding anniversary and we also matched the day of our first date. This July we would have celebrated fifteen years together and nine years married. I thought we were going to have

Before we dive into our contributors’ wonderful pieces, we turn our editorial note over to four of

Welcome back, readers and writers, to another groundbreaking issue of The Beat Within! With summer around the corner, we welcome the longer days, the warmer nights, and the opportunity to set our intentions for this new season. We’re turning the pages of our editorial section over to Jordan and Christopher, who have dedicated these past three months of their senior year to transcribing, editing, and responding to our youth writing. Through Jordan’s reflection, we learn about the specific legacies that our young writers left with their reader, and the hope that Jordan found in each of their pieces. We
